Opening Times
As we are a entirely volunteer run organisation, we can not keep the centre open during normal office hours.
The Nature Reserve is however open all year round, as it is public ground. We do run regular events if you wanted to come along and meet us.
Monthly Conservation Days
“Mother Nature” constantly needs a helping hand, to tidy up around the area with a litter-pick, help plant trees and hedgerows, to some survey work.
All of these help continue our conservation work and look after the area. So, we need your help with this planned work too!
We often hold many one off events, including our ever popular Bat ”Walk & Talk” followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows…..do come, they're free! Details will either be posted here, or on our social media sites.
Naturewatch
As part of our ongoing work we offer a Naturewatch club for children aged from school Year 1 and above (7-12 years). This takes place on the the last Sunday of the month (with the exception of August and December), from 10.30am – 12.30pm, and we ask for £5 per year as membership, but the first session is free.
We are passionate about educating the public about our unique site, and the wildlife that can be found here. We find that children love to engage with the activities that we coordinate, allowing them to gain knowledge of the natural world and understand the value of the environmental awareness.
Naturewatch encourages a passion for nature through fun learning and activities: Nature walks, plant, animal and fungi identification, pond dipping, seasonal craft, arts and craft activities and much more.
Membership of Sholing Valleys Study Centre is necessary, only £5 per year.
