We have to keep the borders of the woodlands and the copse in order. We often have wood available as a result.

If you would like fire wood, walking sticks (decorated and varnised), bird boxes, bug hotels or bird feeders we can supply them to you. Please contact us for a price list.

Volunteer

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Sholing Valleys Study Centre. They contribute towards their community, raise vital funds and run our events. Without them, we simply would not be able to look after the Nature Reserve properly.

Anyone can volunteer, it doesn’t matter what your skills, experience or background, how much time you have to give. A couple of hours a week to spare, we will always be happy to welcome you. A little of your time can make a huge difference to your community surroundings and to the people in to preserve your heritage for years to come.

If you are interested in helping please call us on 023 8043 2395 or send us an email at sholingvalleys1@btinternet.com and we would love to hear from you.

Grants

We greatly rely on income from various Grants. We have recently been lucky enough to be awarded money from TESCO through their Bags of Help to create more solid pathways to allow the public to access and enjoy more of the site. We have also used the money to install two wonderfully designed information boards on the site. Keep your eyes out for them, one gives some detail about the biodiversity, and the other explains some of the history of the site.

Past funders have included:

TESCO

Co‑operative Group Limited

Southampton City Council

Southern Water

Denplan Community Fund

Corporate Social Responsibility

If your organisation would like to use Sholing Valleys as a base for a team building day, or if you would like us to run a special group conservation day, please email us using the form below.
